Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI)
Established in 1957 by Charles Peignot, an eminent French type manufacturer, ATypI is the only world-wide organization dedicated to the pursuit of activity relating to typefaces and typography. ATypI’s members include type designers and typographers, type foundries, graphic designers, writers, publishers, educators and students, manufacturers of typesetting equipment and typographic software, printers, advertising agencies, as well as companies, professional organizations and associations interested in type and typography. ATypI not only preserves the culture, tradition and history of type and typography, it promotes contemporary digital fonts and encourages outstanding typography and typographic design. ATypI also actively campaigns for the protection of typeface designs.

Microsoft Typography
Microsoft’s Typography group researches and develops fonts and font technologies, and supports the development of TrueType fonts by independent type vendors. The Microsoft Typography Web site explains the benefits and features of TrueType, and helps people use type in more imaginative and innovative ways across a wide range of media, including print, video and the Web. The Society of Typographic Aficianados (SoTA)
An International Organization dedicated to the promotion, study, and support of type, its history and development, its use in the world of print and digital imagery, its designers, and its admirers.

TypeRight
The mission of TypeRight is deceptively simple: to promote typefaces as creative works and to advocate their legal protection as intellectual property. Type designers the world over enjoy legal protection for their typefaces. Type designers in the U.S., on the other hand, are offered no protection for their creative efforts, and TypeRight wants to see this changed.
