It is true that many “free font” Web sites link to ITCFonts.com when their users search for commercial fonts. The primary reason they do so is that we have created an “affiliate” program, which allows other sites to list our fonts on their sites. When these fonts are chosen by a user, they are directed from that site towards our site for completion of the sale. The site that directed the customer to ITCFonts.com receives a commission for any sale that is made via these links. As commercial fonts are by definition not legally available for free distribution, they must be purchased from an authorized distributor like ITCFonts.com.
We do offer a free font for signing up for ITC Impressions, our electronic newsletter. You can sign up for free, and get your free font here. We also give away a free font with every purchase on ITCFonts.com. The Mac TrueType and PC TrueType versions of the “free font” are automatically added to customer shopping carts when another product is added to the cart. The “free font” changes each month, so check back regularly.
