Many of Jill Bell's hand lettering projects have graduated into full-fledged type designs. Influenced by Oriental calligraphy, Bell has created seven different type designs for ITC. Smack, a raw and energetic design, was used on the cover of the second album by San Francisco music group Counting Crows. The typeface is also featured prominently on the group’s Web site.
